INTEC Wireless Racing Wheel for Xbox

INTEC Wireless Racing Wheel for Xbox

INTEC has cut the wire from your XBOX to a Racing Wheel. I hate being tethered to a gaming console and instantly get any cordless joystiks and other peripherals that allow me to use put the console away and not wire up a room to play a game. INTEC has a solution for racing games and the XBOX.

The wheel features digital and analog steering modes, rubberized grip for better control and handling, auto centering for improved handling on curves and analog pedals for realistic accelerationg and braking. So, what’s this “braking” I read about? There’s no braking in racing!

Ultra Cordless Optical Mouse

Ultra Cordless Optical Mouse

The Ultra Cordless Optical Mouse not only lets you cut the cord to the computer but frees you from your desktop as well. At the heart of this motion-sensing technology there is a tiny gyroscope in the mouse allowing you to control the mouse with a wave of the hand.

Now if we could just create monitors similar to those in Minority Report, we can remove the desktop from our computing experience entirely.

Sony HDR-SR1 AVCHD 4MP 30GB HD HDD Camcorder

Sony HDR-SR1 AVCHD 4MP 30GB HD HDD Camcorder

Where have you been all my life Sony HDR-SR1? Oh yeah, waiting for technology to catch up with my vision of a hard drive based camcorder that records in high-definition. You can also record in standard-definition, but why would you do that?

The HDR-SR1 uses a 2.1MP ClearVid CMOS Sensor requiring much less power than the traditional CCD imagers. Also, using a Carl Zeiss Vario-Sonnar T* lens resulting in vivid image brilliance, true-to-left color saturation and perfect renditions of subtle tones. The T coating also reduces unwanted glare and flare.

Including a 16:9, 3.5 inch touch-panel LCD display, the camcorder features smooth slow recording and records audio in Dolby Digital 5.1. This gizmo is hot!

Invicta Men’s Leather Speedway Chronograph G Watch 9761

Invicta Men's Leather Speedway Chronograph G Watch 9761

I like to collect watches… well, modestly since I only have seven. I believe I found my next acquisition… Invicta’s (a Swiss manufacturer) Speedway Chronograph G Watch 9761. Why? This watch has some technological game!

This mechanical watch is self-winding. The movement of your wrist and body causes the rotor — a weight attached to an automatic winding mechanism — to wind up the watch. This automatic watch has 21 jewels that the gears turn on to protect the metal parts from grinding together. It needs no battery, but it will stop if you have been physically inactive for an extended period of time.

Sylvania DOT-it Bright White LED Light

Sylvania DOT-it Bright White LED Light

My wife bought a couple of those cheap “as seen on TV” incandescent tap lights a couple years ago. Well one has completely died and the other two are rarely used because they are bulky and loud to turn on and off. These little Sylvania DOT-it lights will be much brighter because they use LED technology instead of incandescent technology. Also, using 3M technology you can stick them anywhere without having to worry about marring the surface. The DOT-it is even small enough to fit in your pocket.

Lego Mindstorms NXT

Lego Mindstorms NXT

Lego has upgraded their Mindstorm product to more of a human look using technic blocks rather than the standard lego bricks. Also, NXT has a 32-bit command center with a large LCD, USB 2.0 and Bluetooth interfaces that allow robots to walk, talk and interact with their environment. This is not your father’s Mindstorms!

All the sensors are apparently rather slick including a ultrasound distance sensor (how freak’n cool is that?). The Geeks really need to get their hands on one for a review though (Lego: reviewer’s sample?)!

Boston Acoustics Receptor HD Clock Radio

Boston Acoustics Receptor HD Clock Radio

ealize the full potential of high-definition digital radio technology with the Boston Acoustics Receptor Radio HD, an AM/FM clock radio that delivers brilliant CD-quality sound. The next-generation tabletop device not only radically upgrades the performance of traditional analog AM/FM signals, but also receives digital broadcasts and their associated wireless data services over existing AM/FM radio bands. The result is spectacularly brilliant clarity, fidelity, and room-filling sound never before heard on any radio of any size.

Digital HD radio broadcasting represents a revolution in radio listening by ushering in a boundless array of entertainment and information possibilities. Across the country, AM and FM radio stations are upgrading to digital HD Radio broadcasting, which enhances both the sound and the programming options. Some stations are broadcasting data over traditional AM/FM bands, including song titles, artist info, weather and traffic updates, and more, while others are broadcasting digital “multicast” channels with alternative programming. The Receptor Radio HD sorts it all out to bring you your favorite current programming, the expanded listening choices, and the song and weather data–all without requiring a subscription.

Yamaha SVC-200 Silent Brown Cello

Yamaha SVC-200 Silent Brown Cello

My brother plays cello. He’s rather good now, but when we were growing up there were times I thought perhaps he was a serial cat killer. Anyway, if your kid decides to pick up an instrument, I suggest getting two… an analog and digital version.

This digital cello folds up nicely, something you don’t want to do with an acoustic cello. Also, the gizmo comes with headphone jacks and line outs so you can either silence the practice or plug into a PA or external audio system to perform. The Geeks also think it looks pretty cool.
