They also described and demoed their cloud-based syncing system called Synergy.

My Two New Favorite iPhone Gaming Apps – Burger Queen and Pocket Frogs

Best Gaming App My Favorite Gaming App Burger Queen To be honest, I’m usually not a huge fan of playing games on my iPhone 4. I don’t have a list of best gaming apps, but I have pretty basic gaming stuff on my phone such as Bejeweled, Solitare and Skeeball. I mostly download gaming apps on my phone for my preschool-aged daughter. When it comes to me, I’d rather check my e-mail, surf on the web or play around on Facebook.

While pursuing the iTunes store for gaming apps for my daughter the other day, I stumbled across two apps that caught my eye. So I downloaded them, and now I am completely hooked on both. I don’t know why I enjoy these two gaming apps so much, but I do. I do love them. And what is funny is that they are really quite different.

AT&T vs Verizon: Battle for the iPhone

iPhone on Verizon We no longer need to ask if Verizon will get the iPhone as at the time this post goes live, Verizon will have started taking pre-orders for existing customers to get the Apple iPhone 4 ready to run on Verizon’s more reliable CDMA wireless network instead of AT&Ts faster GSM wireless network. As we mentioned in an earlier post, we’re excited for the competition.

So the Geeks have gathered some data about Verizon and the iPhone and compared to AT&T in a handy Google Spreadsheet embedded in the jump to the next page. Let us know by leaving a comment if we missed anything on the spreadsheet.

Flexible Displays Take Another Step Forward

We’ve talked about flexible, bendable screens in the past – for example, Sony’s flexible OTFT OLED display. Here is more proof that flexible displays are indeed closer to reality.

Taiwan-based Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) has come up with a production technique that would allow for cost-effective, mass-production of these types of displays, including both LCD and OLED screens. The technique called FlexUPD involves placing a layer of material between the flexible substrate and the glass, which would allow for easier removal (peeling) of the display from the glass.

Zinio iPad app best ipad apps ipad best apps best apps for ipad ipad favorite apps favorite apps for ipad top ipad apps top apps for ipad Every few days I am asked what are the best apps for the iPad and what my iPad favorite apps are. In fact, last May, I wrote about My 12 Favorite iPad Apps where I called out 12 of the best apps for iPad so I thought I’d revisit the list to see if my favorites have changed. As expected, my top apps for iPad have evolved over time. For example, only three of the twelve iPad apps have remained on my list for best apps for iPad including Kindle, Zinio and Mail.

Read on to see what my best apps for the iPad list include for January 2011.

Motorola Xoom coming to Verizon Feb 17th at $699

The CES best-of-show Motorola Xoom Tablet is coming to Verizon Feb 17th according to Engadget and will land at a price of $699, $100 better than the intially rumored $799 price tag.

Sure we were pretty put off by the high price, but a quick comparison with the 3G 32GB iPad ($729) shows that Motorola/Verizon aren’t far off on that price given the huge advantage in feature-list they have on the iPad. Of course, they’d sell a lot more if they push down that cost.

So just a few differentiators with its iPad adversary: 160 dpi vs 132 ppi screen, 1GB vs 256MB RAM, 2MP front camera and 5MP back camera vs no cameras on the iPad, 720p video recording, Flash support, HDMI and USB 2.0 ports and 3G and 4G support vs no 4G on the iPad. Ready to buy one now, aren’t you?
