Golf Ball Sweet Spot Finder

Golf Ball Sweet Spot Finder

Here’s another way to push your golf game just one more step closer to Tiger’s. Ok, so maybe you’ll never win a championship, but maybe you can beat your father-in-law the next time you play by marking your golf balls with their sweet spots. Find them using this gadget. You just stick the ball into the chamber and the device gyroscopically spins the ball to determine its variance in mass and optimal spin axis. After 20 seconds, while the ball is still spinning, insert the special pen through the hole in the side to mark an equator line — a full circle of sweet spots about the axis.

Adidas_1 Intelligent Running Shoes

Adidas_1 Intelligent Running Shoes

Adidas introduces what it claims is the world’s first ‘intelligent’ shoe. Called the adidas_1 (I like the underscore!), the description alone makes it sound wicked cool. The shoes have sensors beneath the heels that monitors changes in weight, surface type and speed 1,000 times per second and passes that onto an embedded chip that analyzes that data to figure out how much cushioning you need.

Dentistry Makes Use of Lasers

Ah, I love technology. Especially when it can make my trips to the dentist even less painful. The FDA has cleared the use of an Erbium:YAG laser since 1998 which can effectively substitute for a traditional drill. The laser vaporizes decayed tooth tissue, is usually painless, does not vibrate and is more precise than a typical drill. If your dentist doesn’t use one of these lasers yet, it’s because they are still extremely expensive as compared to drills, although the vendors claim that over a few years, dentists will save in anesthesia and other costs.

Night Vision Glasses (Clip-On)

Night Vision Glasses (Clip-On)

The Night Vision Glasses taught that glare is cut down at night and that they actually help you “see” better in haze, fog and rain especially for those with fatigued or old eyes.

The Night Vision Glasses filter blue light and preserve a natural balance of color which cut down on glare giving you better detail.

I’m still looking for a good pair of X-Ray glasses… anyone know where I can get some?

Weber 2005 Genesis Gold C

Weber 2005 Genesis Gold C

I love my Weber grill… I hugged it when Amazon delivered it onto my back porch. After three hours and a trip to Home Depot later I grilled my first hamburger the same night and all was good.

Weber grills are synonomous with quality and good even cooking. For the price (especially when Amazon reduces the current years models around Labor Day), I feel you get a really good deal. This same grill is almost $200 more at Home Depot!

Why is the Weber grill a Gizmo of the Day? Because of what Weber has done for gas cooking. Gone are the days where you have “hot spots” on your grill thanks to stainless steel bar burners that extend from one side to another side of the grill evenly distributing heat and flames. Also, no lava rocks are required and Weber’s bars are angled to move the drippings into a drip pan so you don’t get the flare ups. There’s some technology in these grills and I love mine.

TheraSpa Shiatsu Foot Massager with Heat

TheraSpa Shiatsu Foot Massager with Heat

My feet were hurting tonight so I went in search for a “fitness” gizmo; however, I think I’ve found a wife replacement in the Therapa Shiatsu Foot Massager with Heat!

The center massage area has shiatsu nodes which are used for focused acupressure massage which perform a deep kneading action. Usually only beef makes me drool, but these shiatsu nodes are doing the trick currently! Also, there are heat pads which heat up to 120 degrees and the entire pad where you put your feet have hundreds of little vibrating nodes which will stimulate your feet back to life.

Friendly Robotics RL1000 RoboMower Mower and Docking Station

Who said lawn work can’t be geeky?

The Geeks at GfG have found that we can make just about anything geeky and with the help of the Friendly Robotics guys, cutting the lawn can become a study in how to turn something utterly manly into a sweatless and time saving geek activity.

If it’s anything like the Roomba, you’ll waste the time you save by not cutting the grass by watching the grass be cut by the Robomower (with Docking Station!).

Leatherman Micra

Leatherman Micra

The Micra from Leatherman is unlike any pocket knife or multi-purpose tool on the market. Closing to 2.5 inches and weighing just 1.75 ounces, the stainless steel Micra is so small you will hardly notice it until you need it. Then it goes to work for you with 10 useful tools, including spring-action scissors. Nothing else of comparable size gives you scissors this big, this strong, or this effective.

We suggest that you use your Micra to destroy alien races only if they have taken you without consent and only if you already have the root password to the mother ship.

Just over 2 inches long and about a quarter inch.

Night Vision Glasses (Clip-On)

Night Vision Glasses (Clip-On)

Driving at night is much more hazardous than daytime driving, especially when oncoming headlights are very bright. Thanks to the amber lenses of these gold-rimmed clip-on Night Vision glasses, you’ll not only cut the glare, but the risk of accidents. Night Vision clip-ons are especially helpful when your eyes are fatigued from a lot of driving, and for older drivers whose night vision isn’t as keen. These specialized anti-glare glasses give you superior viewing in the dark by filtering blue light and preserving a natural balance of colors. They’re also helpful in haze, fog or rain, giving you sharper contrast and detail. The side lenses filter and enhance peripheral vision as well.
