Little fuzzball from Hasbro more advanced then before, goes limited pre-sale on June 13 with early August full release.

Yes boys and girls, Furby is back. Hasbro first broke the news that they were bringing back the Gizmo gremlin look-alike in February. Today they announced more details on the pending release, including a pre-sales event for dire hard Furby fans.

This pre-sales event, according to Hasbro, will involve 1,000 of the “evolved creatures. Those eager to get their hands on the small furry monsters which terrorized so many in the late 90s will get their chance on the toy company’s sales website Monday June 13 at 10 a.m. EDT. The lucky 1,000 will receive their Furbys shortly after July 15, which is approximately two weeks before the rest of us will probably not line up to buy one. Also accompanying the 1,000 fur balls will be a certificate of authenticity.

Scalextric Sport Digital Model Racing Set

Scalextric Sport Digital Model Racing Set

As a kid, I used to spend hours competing against my friends on Scalextric model car racing sets. We didn’t think much of it, but on a given track, it was side-by-side racing only. Now Scalextric has come out with the Sport Digital set which allows you to have up to 6 cars on the same track, plus the ability to change lanes! Now you can switch lanes, overtake, and play with many more than just 1 of your friends.

Anakin Skywalker’s Lightsaber From Star Wars III

Anakin Skywalker's Lightsaber From Star Wars III

We’ve been remiss in not adding very many Star Wars related gizmos these past few weeks. To make ammends, we’re adding this as yet to be released, official reproduction of Anakin Skywalker’s lightsaber from Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith. This is not just the handle, but includes a glowing, bright blue blade ignites with realistic power-up, and power-down lights effects. It also has authentic lightsaber sound effects digitally recorded from the movie.

Video-game consoles get ready for HD

By Dean Takahashi, Mercury News Mon May 23,11:01 AM ET

LOS ANGELES – The “HD era” is coming as a new generation of video-game consoles gives gaming a dose of high-definition cinema. Or at least that’s the party line from Microsoft and Sony, repeated at every opportunity during the E3 trade show in Los Angeles last week.

Left unsaid is the risk that video games on high-definition TV won’t be accessible or satisfying for many people. Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo’s new consoles will still play games on old analog television sets. But Microsoft in particular is pushing its Xbox 360 as a natural accessory for a high-definition TV.

CULVER CITY, Calif., May 16 – Bidding to maintain its commanding lead in the video game console business, Sony revealed details of its next-generation product, PlayStation 3, on Monday, promising greatly enhanced graphic effects and heightened realism. It will compete against new consoles from Microsoft and Nintendo.

The PlayStation 3 will be able to render in real time complex movielike animations that previously took hours to create, Sony executives said. It will also be able to display images at a high-definition resolution equivalent to that of digital projectors in movie theaters, they said.

The new console, to be available in spring 2006, is also intended to serve as the centerpiece of a home’s digital entertainment hardware. With digital inputs for wired and wireless accessories, it will use a new processor architecture and will incorporate Blu-ray disc technology, Sony’s new high-definition DVD format.

The PlayStation 3 will also be able to play games developed for the two previous versions of PlayStation.

Pets are a joy to have around, but pet maintenance can be a chore. While taking out an entire trash bag that’s empty save for a small amount of kitty litter may seem like a necessary waste in order to avoid the odor, it’s no longer essential. The LitterChamp Jr. is an easy, clean and fun way to dispose of pet waste that neither squanders plastic bags nor leaves odors around the trash can. The included bag roll can be cut to size after each disposal.

PlayStation II Eye Toy

PlayStation II Eye Toy

Video game makers have been experimenting with live-action video in games since the early 1980s but EyeToy (a digital camera for PlayStation2) marks the first time it’s been done right. The device magically superimposes video-game graphics onto a player’s image and translates his or her movements into controlling elements of the game. It is the best improvement of video game controls since the joystick. Games are now controlled just by moving your body!

Gizmondo gadget gets BSODded up

By Wil Harris: Thursday 24 March 2005, 10:04

THE GIZMONDO handheld console launched last week to much pomp and some circumstance in London.

The games system, which also sports GPS and SMS features, is going head-to-head with the Nintendo DS and the PlayStation Portable.

The Gizmondo is based on Nvidia GoForce hardware, and a Windows Mobile OS. Of course, this does mean there’s every opportunity for them to BSOD out.
