Apple to fix iPad Wi-Fi bug

iPad According to Apple’s support site:

A very small number of iPad users have experienced issues with Wi-Fi connectivity. This article outlines workarounds for these issues. Apple will also address remaining Wi-Fi connectivity issues with a future iPad software update.

While perhaps some spin is involved from the Apple camp with the phrase “A very small number”, at least Apple has acknowledged the Wi-Fi issues and plan to address in an upcoming update.

Apple also has a troubleshooting guide for connecting the iPad to wireless.

Playboy Centerfold in 3D

As a kid snooping around my dad’s bedroom drawers I ran across the most wonderful thing I could imagine… his Playboy collection. While not as well built as other father’s collections (some running from the 50s to the 80s), there were about a half a dozen gems to look through. As a curious boy, I wondered what it would be like if the centerfold jumped off the page… well, I don’t have to wonder anymore as the June edition of Playboy will be equipped with 3D glasses.

“What would people most like to see in 3-D?” asked Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. “Probably a naked lady.”. What a wise and insightful man!

AT&T drops more than other providers

Gizmodo reports that while AT&T has actually improved performance around dropped calls lately, a survey from ChangeWave Research reports that 4.5% of calls placed on the AT&T mobile network are dropped which is three times as many as Verizon users.

AT&T and T-Mobile each share only a 23% customer approval rating which provides a good correlation with dropped calls.

Super NES on iPad using the Wiimote

The Spirit jailbreak for the iPad was barely released when some of the more impressive features of the iPad were released without Apple’s consent. One of the more exciting hacks is the demo of Super Mario World being played on the Super NES emulator using a Wiimote (Wii Remote) as the controller after the break. Once jailbroken, you need snes4iphone ($5.99 from Cydia, which is the app store for jailbreak apps).

MIT Researchers meld iPhone and EPOC Neuro-headset. Dial home with a thought

Remember the Emotiv EPOC neuro-headset we featured last year? Well, a group of MIT brainiacs (pun intended) have developed a method to use the EPOC to control an iPhone.

Dubbed the ‘neurophone’, it lets you ‘think’ of a contact and then dial, all without touching the screen or pressing any buttons. Incidentally, the emotiv EPOC is a real headset that you can buy right now for $299. …
