I’ve never been a fan of microwave popcorn, instead I prefer air popped popcorn. Nothing tastes better than freshly popped kernels drowned in butter and lightly salted! I like air popped popcorn so much that I took my parents popcorn maker when I left the house many years ago and I still use it. The popcorn maker was one of the first popcorn makers I remember seeing and was manufactured around 1986 (20 years ago!). Anyway, I think it’s time for a new popcorn maker since I now get shocked every single time I make popcorn now!
Cuisinart has created a nice looking popcorn maker called the PartyPop. The PartyPop allows you to put the amount of oil, salt and seasonings you want to use (can’t do that with microwave popcorn) and uses motorized stirring to keep the kernels moving until most are popped. I hear another feature is that it won’t shock you!

Geeks love bots… I cannot remember the first time I dreamed of creating a robot and using cardboard, scissors and some old fashion imagination I created my first “robot” which did nothing but fall over and completely fall apart. Ok, so that was only two weeks ago…
Anyway, Parallax has created a couple robot kits that use the BASIC Stamp 2 microcontroller and something called the Board of Education project platform allowing you to create a Boe-Bot Robot and teach it to navigate on its own with touch, light and infrared sensors.
Don’t forget to program robot ethics into your bot (unless you manage to make the bot look like Number Six!).

I miss Webvan. My wife and I really had a hard time coping when they pulled out of Atlanta back around 2000 but after five years of therapy we’re ready to move on. That is until Amazon opened a grocery store!
Of course Amazon’s Grocery Store is very different from Webvan’s… for one Amazon already has the distribution systems in place. Also, Amazon sells non-perishable items so they don’t need refrigerated trucks (oh those beautful brown trucks with the Webvan logo… uh no, I’m slipping). Also, it seems Amazon is selling bulk items or Costco sized items — like the tub ‘o Special K.

Ok, this is pretty sharp… the Cingular 8125 Pocket PC phone runs Windows Mobile operating system with Pocket Office Apps (Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook) and a slide out keyboard. So, I can view my powerpoint slides on the phone… what about the networking? Mvix has just introduce the new Vije 1.3MP (1280 x 1024) webcam which is one of the highest resolution (true hardware) available today and the price is a steal.
