If you have a cable Internet connection or DSL at your home or business, you can use your constant broadband connection as a telephone line to call anywhere in the world. The growing Voice-over Internet Protocol (VoIP) phone service allows you to access the Internet and make phone calls simultaneously. The Uniden VoIP Phone System uses Vonage service to connect you to any phone in the world with excellent low rates, even for international calls. Ideal for a home or small business, this phone set comes with a base handset and an extension, and once the base is connected to your broadband line, up to eight additional handsets (sold separately) can be connected, plugging only into an AC outlet.

The Uniden VoIP Phone System has a built-in WAN/LAN router and firewall and works exclusively with the Vonage broadband phone system; subscription to Vonage service is required. When signing up, you’ll even be able to select your area code, which can be convenient if you don’t live near the people or customers who call you most often. Additional Vonage VoIP service features include voice mail, Caller ID, Call Waiting, Call Forwarding, and 3-Way Calling. You can even set up the system to send you an e-mail every time you get a voicemail, even attaching the message to the e-mail.

Store up to 100 names and numbers in the Uniden Vonage VoIP Phone System’s base as well as another 100 in each handset. You can even transfer memory locations between handsets for easy programming. With 10 ringer melodies and 15 ring tones pre-installed in the phone, you’ll be able to assign ring tones to frequent callers. You can even record up to 5 of your own songs. Connect a handset to your computer via the included USB cable to take advantage of the customization software included with the phone kit. You’ll be able to set your own handset screen backgrounds and ring tones, and even import contacts from Microsoft Outlook.

The versatility of this VoIP phone system is compounded by its many features. You’ll appreciate its built-in intercom that allows you to talk between handsets and the base unit. You can even transfer calls from one unit to another and set up conference calls among two handsets, the base unit, and an outside call. The phones will even function as 2-way radios!

Each handset will function as a hands-free speakerphone. You can also plug in a headset (sold separately), if desired. The handsets and the base have easy-to-read animated LCD screens for easy viewing of programmed phone numbers or Caller ID information. You can also program a name to label each handset.
