Woot! Another crazy alarm clock – this one makes you shoot hoops to disable snooze the alarm clock. By the time you make a basket, you’re probably going to be pretty worked up and awake.
I think after day one, I’d probably give up and just let the alarm continue!

This is just a design right now, but it’s cool-looking for sure. Called the Switchital Clock, the numbers break apart and morph to the next set of numbers each minute. Designer Matthias Pugin has a number of other cool designs on his website.

How many different things can you combine into 1 device and then of course make it USB-connected and -powered? Obviously the answer is infinite! Here’s another – an alarm clock, with a speaker and a calendar all modeled to look an old-fashioned radio announcer’s microphone (like the one Larry King has as a prop).
The speaker plugs into any 3.5mm audio device (like an iPod or other MP3 player). The clock itself is powered by batteries – another retro ‘feature’. I suppose for the low price, you can’t expect too much. Unfortunately, it’s missing the obvious feature – a microphone!

Today’s Gizmo of the Day is probably more notable for its artsy look than it’s gadgetiness, but it is cool – a clock that adjusts for daylight saving time simply by being tipped. Everything I have, except my watch, adjusts automatically for daylight savings time so perhaps a little unnecessary for me, but it does make a great talking point and looks pretty cool as well. Designed by NAVA who haven’t as yet released any details on price or availability – watch this space!

You already know how we love our alarm clocks here on GfG! Well we love the sound of this one, or more precisely, it loves the sound of us. You see, the Moshi alarm clock is voice-controlled. Start off by saying “Hello Moshi” and it will ask you for the command to perform.

The alarm clock is the best, and the worst, (depending on how much you like hate work) invention ever, but we manage to bring you the coolest, weirdest and wackiest out there. Today’s is no exception – the wind chime alarm clock will wake you up in a very calm manner, unlike the horrible sound some other clocks make.
At your desired, preset time you will be awoken with the zen-like sound of wind whistling through a set of chimes (hit the buy link for a video). Ditch batteries altogether, and run this digital clock on water. Yup, water (and some lemon juice). This green-friendly clock uses its built-in electrodes to sip whatever power it needs from the acidic water.
Just one caveat – you need to change the water every 5-7 weeks. Seems like a small price to save landfills from batteries. Comes in 4 different colors.
Wicked cool. I’d just like it to include an alarm clock, but I’m guessing the power requirements for that are too high for mere lemon water to meet.

More alarm clock obsession. This one is for geniuses, or would-be smarty pants. It’s the Mensa Puzzle alarm clock. In order to shut it off, you have memorize a sequence of lights and then punch them back in to the clock. Nice.
Don’t get it wrong, or the alarm gets louder. Definitely a good way to get your brain quickly active in the AM. I think I’d throw mine against a wall.
