muvees Licenses Its Automatic Video Production Technology to Nikon for In-Camera Music Video Creation

Singapore and New York, NY – February 21, 2006 – muvee Technologies, the pioneer and leader in Instant Personal Video, has licensed its muvee-making technology to Nikon to enable automatic video creation on its new Coolpix S5 and S6 style series cameras. muvee’s technology powers the embedded ‘Pictmotion’ feature in these cameras, and enables photos and recorded video clips to be automatically styled to music to produce compelling in-camera shows – called ‘muvees’ – that further enhance the digital photography experience.

Terence Swee, muvee’s founder and Chief Opportunities Officer, said, “muvee’s patented Artistic Intelligenceâ„¢ technology introduces a refreshing and meaningful way for people to enjoy and share all their digital media instantly on camera without the need for a PC and software. People are taking more and more pictures at every event and preview screens on cameras keep getting bigger. Being able to instantly create and watch a finished muvee production right on your camera is a powerful enhancement. It transforms the camera from being just an image capturing device into a portable player as well, that you can use to display and share your best memories in an emotionally engaging way, while on the go.”

Pictmotion is available whenever a memory card is inserted into the camera and offers 5 muvee production styles: Classic, Moody, Motion, Pro-slow and Pro-fast. Users can select all of the images stored, or select individual photos. They can also select images according to the date they were taken. Pictmotion supports Coolpix video clips as well, and these can be blended with photos in a single production. Users can select music from a maximum of eight tracks, five of which are pre-installed on the camera. And by using Nikon’s bundled PictureProject PC software, they can save three additional music tracks of their own to a memory card, each up to three minutes in duration, for use in a muvee production. The bundled PictureProject PC software also extends the muvee-making experience by letting users save and play back Pictmotion muvees on a PC or burn them to DVD for sharing.
