Microsoft has a handful of brand new webcams in their LifeCam series, that are capable of 720p HD video. The HD-5000 and HD-6000 webcams are 30 fps cameras with auto focus and TrueColor technology.
Naturally, they’re optimized for Windows Live, but hardly exclusively. The HD-6000 is geared just for notebooks and has a 360 lens rotation feature, so you can spin it around to capture people or scenes behind your laptop.
The HD-5000 can be used for either desktops or portables.
