LHC creates mini ‘Big Bang’; and we’re still alive

The Large Hadron Collider has successfully created a “mini-Big Bang” by smashing together lead ions instead of protons and as it turns out, we’re all still living and haven’t been sucked into a black hole. Or have we?

Scientists will be studying the effects of this experiment for weeks to come.
