As a security minded IT professional, I love gizmos like this that actually try to fix a luser (lazy user) problem such as walking away from a laptop without locking the computer. With the security dongle plugged into a USB port, your computer will lock itself when you walk six feet away from it unless your luser decides to put their keys with the transmitter on the table next to the machine!
As a note, this only works with Windows machines from Windows 98/SE/ME/2000/XP and for some reason is not meant for dual screen systems. Again, I would only use for those road warriors that setup shop for the day at a partner’s site by day (and a competitor by night).
The USB Wireless Security lock is a simple yet effective means to ensure computer access is limited to an authorized user. Each kit is composed of a USB receiver dongle connected to the computer, and a battery-powered access transmitter, which is to be carried by the authorized user. When the user moves more than 2 meters away from the computer, the security dongle will disable access to the computer until the user carrying the transmitter has returned within the vicinity of the computer.
