“Treo Ace”, the rumored next generation of the popular palmOne Treo series (most likely the 610), has added a few features as leaked by a palmOne powerpoint slide. In addition, the first provider to get the phone should be Verizon. Finally, the investment bank of Detwiler Mitchell and Company confirmed rumors of the update from the Treo 600 sometime in Q2 or Q3 of this year. Of course, there were rumors the new Treo series smartphone would be introduced back in March of this year.
The “Treo Ace” is rumored to have the following features:
- Transreflective 16 bit 320×320 screen
- Built in Bluetooth
- Smaller form factor
- Curved Keyboard
- Soft Buttons
- Send/End Buttons
- 1.3 MP Camera
- 312 Mhz processor
- 32 MB RAM
- Palm OS 5.4 (Garnet)
- SDIO/MMC slot
- New browser
- Home Screen
Some other rumors are that palmOne asked TreoCentral to remove all posts regarding the “Treo Ace”. In addition, Gizmodo had even reported at one point that the Treo would be antenna-less which turned out to be a photoshop job of the Treo 600. I guess only time will tell if any of these rumors can be substantiated.
