Just saw someone get this fitness gadget and I was intrigued. In the back of my mind, I’ve always known that these existed, but given that I’ve started *trying* to up my running endurance, seeing this heart-rate monitor watch really had me thinking that I “needed” one. The Timex Digital Heart Rate Monitor Watch System consists of an elastic chest strap that transmits wirelessly to a watch that you wear while exercising (or whenever). The watch displays heart-rate info in near real-time. It will also perform calculations like total time in your target heart rate zone, average heart rate in target zone and even age-based targets.
And if you’re really feeling ambitious, you can also get the Data Recorder, which together with the watch and strap make up the Timex Bodylink system. The Data Recorder does what its name sounds like: it reocrds your workout data which you can later import into your computer for analysis later on.
