6 Funniest Customer Calls Ever

I was re-introduced to my favorite call center conversation a day or two ago and thought I’d compile half a dozen of my favorite customer support/complaint/sales calls in one place. Most of these videos are not suitable for work or to be watched around kids without ear muffs.

Let the countdown start with a Dell support call where a man is trying to turn off his mom’s laptop. This clip has more bad words strung together than the recent MTV Video Awards:

Dell announced that the Streak, a touch-screen tablet computer is real and will first see daylight in the UK next month (June) and later in the summer in the US to AT&T.

The Streak (once known as the Mini 5) is a 5″ screen with a Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU and running Google’s Android OS (not Chrome OS, by the way), and has WiFi and 3G network connectivity. …

Dell’s ‘Solar’ Parking Lot recharges plug-in cars

dell's solar parking lotDell is one company that is at least trying to tackle the climate problem in whatever capacity they can. For example, here’s what I feel is a great idea: solar cell-lined shaded parking structures.

These ‘trees’ not only shade cars from the sun, but also collect and can power electrical outlets in the column, so you can plug in your electric car during the day.

Built by Envision Solar, hopefully we’ll see many more of these in company parking lots across the world.

CES 2010: AT&T Launching 5 Android Smartphones in 1st Half of 2010

androidat&t logoAT&T announced that it plans to launch 5 new Android smartphones in the 1st half of this year (2010) [press release]. The phones will be from HTC, Motorola and Dell. Yes, Dell.

What does this say about AT&T relationship with Apple and its iPhone? Perhaps nothing, but perhaps that the honeymoon is over and Apple may really be taking its iPhone to other networks as well.

CES 2010: Dell Mini 3 Smartphone Will Run on AT&T

dell mini 3 android smartphoneDell is following through with their earlier announcement of an Android handset, and will be joining the ranks of the other AT&T Android smartphones.

The Dell Mini 3 smartphone [press release] is an iPhone/Droid/Nexus styled touchscreen phone that sports a 3.5″ 540×360 display, 3 Megapixel camera with flash, microSD slot, GPS and Bluetooth.

Dell SX2210T Multi-Touch LCD Monitor with Webcam

A standalone touch screen monitor has been on every geek’s wish list, but how about a multi-touch monitor?! The Dell SX2210T is sexy, multi-touch and affordable. This is a 1920 x 1080 21.5-inch panel, with HDMI and DVI inputs along with an integrated two megapixel (2Mp) webcam and microphone. It has a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 2ms response time.

The Dell SX2210T has touch and multitouch features like panning, zooming, flicking, scrolling, etc. which come to life on a Windows 7 system. You can use either your finger(s) or a stylus to operate the touch screen features. Many of the touch features are customizable and many of those options can be accessed from the monitor’s control panel.

Unfortunatlely, not all of the touch screen options work with all versions of Windows Vista and Windows 7, so pay attention to those details in the product specs before you shell out for what otherwise looks like a beautiful monitor.

Dell Latitude Z is thin, light and packed with new features

Dell has a new laptop line – the Latitude Z, which touts thin and light along with its standout feature: wireless charging.

Currently, only 1 model is available, the Z 600, but it is chock full of cool features. For starters, this a 16″ 1600×900 screen and the claim is that at 4.5 pounds, the world’s lightest 16″ – not hard to believe. It is just over half an inch thick (or should we say thin?) at 0.57″ to be exact.

Dell P2210 22″ Monitor

Dell has a new line-up of eco-friendly monitors including the pictured P2210 which is a 22″ flat panel screen that supports up to a 1680×1050 widescreen resolution.

It has 4 USB 2.0 ports, takes VGA, DVI-D and DisplayPort inputs and has an adjustable viewing angle. It is not height-adjustable like the more expensive line, but it can be rotated to become a vertical standing monitor.

Oh, so the enviro-friendly specs – meets EPEAT Gold and Energy Star standards and uses less hazardous materials in its manufacture.
