I’ve been holding off on getting a new USB stick until manufacturers start making ones with capacities greater than 2GB, because let’s face it: 2GB seems like a lot now, but just give it some time; you’ll start complaining about it soon enough. Anyway, looks like Sony may have come up with a product that may meet my needs for the next couple of years. It’s appropriately called the Micro Vault and this particular model in the line packs in 8GB. On seeing the size and shape, I didn’t care for it, but then had a thought: folks lose those tiny thumb drives all the time. Why? Because they’re small. This one may solve that problem. But it’s still not that huge: 3″ at its widest. Sony also pre-loads a file synchronization software application on the drive, so you can really use it as a nice portable backup for your important data.
