Dropbox Hits 25 Million Users

Dropbox Online Backup, Sharing and Syncing ServiceDropbox announced today that they’ve hit quite a milestone – 25 million users which is up tremendously from the 4 million they had last year.

In case you don’t already, Dropbox is an online file sharing, backup and in particular syncing service.

Use the default folder or specify your own on your computer and whatever you put in there (or delete) gets automatically synchronized to your online account.

You can even use it to synchronize data to another computer and/or even your iPad, iPhone, Android or Blackberry devices. You can also share folders with friends and family (think baby photos!).

Dropbox gives you 2GB of online space for free and you can increase that via referrals, or simply upgrade your account for a small fee.

I featured Dropbox in my Top Daily Use Products article, and I highly recommend it. In a crowded field of online backups and syncing services (ex: Syncplicity, SugarSync, Windows Live Mesh among dozens of others), Dropbox has quickly managed to distinguish itself with a slick, easy to use product.
