TV ProbeLinc

TV ProbeLinc

This isn’t your alien’s probe! The TV ProbeLinc detects if your TV is on or off and reports back to its base unit (X10 to IR Linc, PC to IR Linc, or I/O Linc) as to the status of your TV regardless of how the TV is turned off. Not only will this probe detect if the TV is on or off but the probe also detects the high-frequency RF emissions of electric motors and radio transmitters. This is a fun gizmo for the home automation geek looking for a project.

This high-frequency probe won’t just detect the on/off status of your television, though. The TV ProbeLinc can also detect operation of an electric motor or even a radio transmitter.

Connect the TV ProbeLinc to an X-10/IR Linc to convert up to four probe inputs to X10 output, ideal for sending explicit on/off control commands to up to four A/V devices. This learning IR controller converts incoming X10 signals to infrared output. To control only one A/V device, you can connect the TV ProbeLinc to the PC to IR Linc, which converts a single probe input to X10 output for use with your computer. When connected to the I/O Linc, up to four probes will send X10/PLC signals when a change in the probe’s state is detected; you can also use its four dry-contact SPDT relays to control low-voltage devices.
