The Geeks have decided to take the training wheels off our site!
Since July 2004, the Geeks have been through several web hosting providers and solutions. We started with a shared web hosting solution and discovered that if Fark or Slashdot picked up one of our articles… the site would crawl to a stop. We then decided to up the service to a VPS (Virtual Private Server) where we had a some more dedicated resources over the shared solution.
Thanks to you, our readers, we now need the resources of a dedicated server. Rather than start at the low end, we opted for dual Opterons, Raptor hard drives and an increase of memory from 128MB to 1GB (grunt! grunt!).
