Samson Zoom H4 Digital Audio Recorder

Samson Zoom H4 Digital Audio Recorder

Back at CES, Chief Gizmateer took his iPod and hooked up some microphone accessories to turn his iPod into an instant, portable recording device – it worked great for recording interviews and getting an audio record of all of the answers. Sometimes, our interviewees were more interested in our little unorthodox recording gear than in answering questions! Anyway, if you’d like something that’s a bit more focused on recording audio and don’t mind walking around with 1 more gadget, take a look at the Samson Zoom H4, which is a 24-bit/96 kHz digital recorder. The H4 has 2 high-quality condenser microphones configured so that you’ll get stereo recordings. It records straight to SD cards, so with a 2GB card, you can get 34 hours of recordings in MP3 format.

The H4 also hooks up via USB of course, to your computer so that you can pull down your recordings.
