TWC Max+ was not the first weather app for the iPad, but is currently the best. I had purchased Weather HD for 99 cents which is shown on several commercials, but it’s really just eye candy with a background matching the weather of the location you’re looking at. While it includes a forecast, there are no radar maps. Then The Weather Channel Max+ comes along and provides a full iPad screen radar map which allows you to play the radar over the past three or next three hours. You can smoothly move around the map and zoom in as well. Of course the app has the local forecast, TWC videos, severe warnings and even a button called Social that brings up the tweets from TWC (and NBC) on-air personalities and finally videos that are currently on TV.
