Dyson Air Multiplier Table Fan

Dyson Air Multiplier Table Fan Dyson is known for creating a unique vacuum cleaner with a ball but now they have worked to revolutionize the conventional fan. The Dyson Air Multiplier fans work differently from conventional fans. Using an airfoil-shaped ramp (like a cross-section through an airplane wing), airflow is amplified from 15 to 18 times depending on the model. This creates a smooth, powerful airflow, with no need for fast-spinning blades.

First air is drawn in at a rate up to 5.28 gallons of air per second by an energy-efficient brushless motor. Next the air is accelerated through an annular aperture as it passes over a 16 degree airfoil-shaped ramp to channel its direction. Air behind the fan is then drawn into the airflow though inducement. Additionally, air is entrained from around the machine into the airflow amplifying it 15 times.

With no blades or grille, they’re safe and easy to clean. And they produce an uninterrupted stream of smooth air, with no unpleasant buffeting.

Dyson Air Multiplier – Fan Without Blades

dyson air multiplier fanIndustrial designer and inventor, James Dyson, is at it again. This time, he’s moved away from vacuum cleaners and onto fans. Fans, you ask? Yup, fans, but take a look at the photo. It doesn’t have any blades!

It just looks like a cylinder. What it does is pull in air and amplifies it 15 times. No wonder it’s called an ‘air multiplier’. It’s easy to clean, is safe with kids, has 90º oscillation and tilt.

Motorlight Wall/Floor Lighting System – improves your mood

Motorlight Floor

The Motorlight lighting system is a high end state-of-the-art lighting system designed by Jake Dyson – son of the legendary multi-billionaire UK inventor, and founder of Dyson, Sir James Dyson. So it seems the creativity has been passed down from father to son. His innovation is far from just vacuum cleaners and hand dryers. This lighting system has variable light projection angles to create a multitude of moods in your room with a simple remote.

The lighting system comes in 2 forms – a floor standing version and a wall version (presumably mounted on or placed inside a wall) and can be run on their own or with another 29 lights in series – provided you have the money to buy 30 of these at £495 ($800) for the floor version or £249 ($400) for the wall version.

20 Geeky Vacuum Cleaners

USB Handheld Vacuum Cleaner

One of our readers sent us a list of 20 geeky vacuum cleaners and my, what a list! Everything you could possible think of is here from the vac that sounds like Chewbacca coming in at number 20 to the retro, handheld, USB powered one at number 1.

There’s even a very nice Halo-style cleaner and a few, very odd, vacuums for cleaning various body parts and then, worringly, for dealing with human waste! My personal favorite is the Dyson Airblade  – not really a vac, but it will seriously dry your hands amazingly quick. For those of you who haven’t tried it, it’s something to do before you die!
