Freecycle.org is a nonprofit, grassroots organization that brings together folks looking to get or get rid of “treasure” and/or “trash” (depending on your perspective). It does this quite simply through the use of free Yahoo! Groups mailing lists that are geared to local geographic areas. Freecycle boasts over half a million users in over 1,500 cities.
