Ciil Tech’s First Fully Outdoor TV

Summer is coming soon and if you’re a fan of garden parties it might be time to invest in an outdoor TV. Running a cable from your sitting room outside just isn’t going to look good enough anymore. Ciil make these outdoor LCD 1080p TVs for your enjoyment whilst in the hot tub.

Okay, so the contrast ratio isn’t great at 4,000:1 and brightness from 450cd/m2 to 700cd/m2 but they do work outside and that’s what’s important here!

nPower Peg Charges While You Walk

A lot of energy we use while going about our daily lives is wasted. When we charge up our phones and iPods we have to pay for the energy we use.

nPower has come up with their nPower PEG (Power Energy Generator) which offers a bridge between the two activities. All you do is pop the PEG in your backpack as you’re walking around, and the kinetic energy you generate charges up the battery inside it. You can then plug the PEG into your phone or iPod and let the juice flow.

SleepTracker Pro Elite Sleep MonitorOver 4 years ago, we reviewed the first Sleeptracker sleep phase wrist-watch alarm product. Since then Innovative Sleep Solutions has come out with some newer versions of the Sleeptracker, including the Sleeptracker Elite, which comes in two color variations – for men and women.

Here’s my review of the new Sleeptracker Elite. The Elite (for men) now comes with some blue trim and a rectangular body as compared to the white trim but more rounded classic Sleeptracker.

Uber Small Radar Speed Gun by PocketRadar

PocketRadarFor athletes, knowing the speed of things is important for training purposes. PocketRadar has altered the way you can do this by producing a speed gun that is incomprehensibly small; small enough to fit very comfortably in the palm of your hand.

According to the manufacturer, existing radar technology was be adapted to make it small enough, and the PocketRadar uses a Doppler radar signal sensing and antenna components to give it the most accurate speed reading possible – the manufacturers claim this to  be accurate within 1 mph (mile per hour).

PocketRadar’s target audience include sports and motorsports fans, although we’re not sure if the novelty wouldn’t wear off after a few uses.

EA Sports Active 2 Released for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii

EA Sports Active 2The Wii, especially the Wii Fit, was released on the premise that it would make us all much fitter; it would completely reverse the stereotype of couch-potato video gaming.

However, it never really took off to the extent that one would have imagined or Nintendo would have hoped. Sure some people do have some success with the Wii as a fitness device but it hasn’t lived up to its full potential.

But that hasn’t deterred other gaming companies. EA (Electronic Arts) for example is onto its 2nd version of EA Active and it even has its own heart rate monitor.

Sanyo’s Eneloop Rechargeable Battery Powered Bike

Eneloop Bike SeriesSanyo’s new application for their Eneloop range of rechargeable batteries is their bike series – a fairly standard electric bike where the battery is charged up while you cycle and the power is released by pressing a button on the handlebars.

At this point the bike goes into ‘all-wheel’ mode, i.e. both wheels will be powered instead of just the rear wheel on a standard bicycle. What differentiates this bike from other electric ones is that it manages to charge the battery even whilst you’re slowing down – that extra power does help in the long run too.

BioLogic ReeCharge Portable Rechargeable Battery Pack

BioLogic ReeChargeCharging your gadgets via solar panels is old news and, to be honest, so is charging your gadgets when cycling. However, the BioLogic ReeCharge from Dahon deserves a mention here just for doing it just a little bit cooler than others.

The ReeCharge is a 1600 mAh Lithium Battery that gets strapped to your bike and plugged into your dynamo (not included). When you’re cycling around in the day you won’t need to use your light and so you can instead use the power being generated by your dynamo and store it in this battery. …
