Review: Ballistic Men’s Extreme Black Dial Chronograph Stainless Steel Watch

Ballistic Extreme Men's Black DialWhen Watches Shop sent me the Ballistic Extreme watch for review I was thinking here’s my chance to really beat on a product to see if it lives up to the hype. In case you’re wondering if I meant ‘beat on’ euphemistically, read on!

So the Ballistic line of watches have the claim to fame of being virtually unbreakable – shatterproof, scratchproof, and tough enough to be run over by a truck.

I had a difficult time in doing the ‘tests’ since the watch was so eye catching. The watch in question was the Ballistic Extreme with the black dial (model #BWE101). The weight of the watch alone told me that it would stand up to a pounding. The casing and band made of stainless steel gives the watch a regal look along with the locking clasp which will keep the watch on your hand during any collision. …

Uzi Protector Watch w/ Tritium Self-illuminating Display

Uzi Protector Watch How would you like to wear a little radioactive isotope of hydrogen on your wrist? Of course you would! This Uzi Protector Watch features tritium illumination which is known as T, 3H or Hydrogen-3, which is a radioactive isotope of hydrogen.

Where else have you seen tritium illumination, you might ask? Other watches (not nearly as cool as this one), glowing novelty keychains, self-illuminated exit signs, glow-in-the-dark equipment for military use, analog dials in aircraft, compasses, and sights for some weapons. Even some old rotary telephones used tritium illumination, but since they’re all really old now they don’t produce much light. The Uzi Protector Watch is classic geek black with a metal band, tritium illuminated display, and rotating bezel. Swiss movement means it’ll always be on time (even if you’re not) and the battery will last up to 3 years. But really, it’s all about the tritium, baby.

You’ll be glowing when you wear this watch!

Executive Watch Repair Tool Kit

Exclusive watch repair kit designed specifically for battery changing, link removing, back cover opening, strap changing and watch servicing. If you have a decently large watch collection, and/or would just like to save some money on watch repairs, you should learn how to do basic repairs such as battery changing, link removing, back cover opening and strap changing on your own so you don’t have to pay the high prices most jewelers charge.

I decided to go this route after needing batteries replaced in four watches and replacing one band. I ended up spending over $80 when I could have purchased all the batteries for well less than $10 and the band was a simple $20 band.

A watch repair tool kit like this one is perfect for those who are interested in watch repair:  changing batteries, bands and minor repairs on watches. Not only do you save money, but I actually enjoyed performing the work on my watches.

This watch repair tool kit contains 12 different tools that works with most watches. It includes 5 screwdrivers, 2 pin pushers, a brass hammer with metal handle, a spring bar remover, a case opener, a screw type link remover, a plastic block to hold watch bands in plast and a compact zippered leather carrying case.

If you would rather a simpler kit, there are more than a few other cheaper watch repair kits.
