Panasonic Bagless Vacuum with Infrared Dirt Sensors

The question here is when will *all* vacuum cleaners have infrared dirt sensors? Can’t be that far away, but until then at least the Panasonic MC-V7720 does (who comes up with these model numbers anyway?). Essentially, as the vacuum cleaner passes over areas that it determines to have more dirt/dust/animal dander/etc. than usual, it ups the power to suck up that dirt, and powers down – cutting down on the noise – when it’s past that area. It also has an automatic height adjustment. This may not sound like much of a feature, but I’m tired of doing the trial-and-error approach to figuring out the correct height every time I have to vacuum a different part of the house.

Features:

  • Upright bagless vacuum from Panasonic with infrared dirt sensors for controlling power output
  • HEPA exhaust filter removes air impurities and allergens; dual brushes lift up debris with opposing rotation
  • 12-amp motor extracts dirt through the 15-inch nozzle into a 2-piece dust cup; automatic height adjustment for varying surfaces
  • Various QuickDraw accessories, including 17-foot extra-stretch hose and turbine tool, are holstered for easy access; 30-foot power cord
  • Vacuum measures 15-1/4 by 19 by 45-1/2 inches and weighs 18 pounds; limited 1-year warranty
