Logitech Alert offers stylish Web-connected Security Cameras

If you read the article we posted recently about Archerfish’s Security Cameras, you know we weren’t impressed with the price. So here’s an alternative solution that’s a little cheaper and still packed full of features.

The classy “Alert” range of security cameras by Logitech will do the job perfectly well and is 25% cheaper than the Archerfish.

Logitech has two cameras are in this line: the 750i ($285) and the 750e ($341). The 750i is an indoor camera and the 750e outdoor. Both include easy set-up (with your current Wi-Fi network), free viewing over the Internet and free apps for iPhone, Android and Blackberry, viewing supported over Google TV, built in microphones and motion-triggered alerts.

Pop in the SD card and you can record up to a week of video on there, and it will be instantly backed up to your computer once you switch on your desktop and connect it to the network. One interesting feature about this camera is the ability to set “allowed” motion zones such as doors and windows. This means that if any motion is detected in those areas it won’t set off the camera, saving you the time of checking out false positives.

And if you’re still undecided, we think they look much more stylish than the Archerfish!
