iPhone AT&T Data Network Down

by Doug Felteau on July 2, 2007

iphone-held.jpg What was Apple thinking when they teamed up with AT&T as their exclusive carrier for the iPhone? First there were issues activating iPhones Friday night and over the weekend, now AT&T’s data routing network is down in many parts of the west coast, Arizona, Denver, Dallas, etc… according to this Engadget report. Maybe that’s why my brother hasn’t called me today.

Engadget reports that as of 4:30PM PST, the reliable EDGE network is back up.

Actually – I didn’t call because I was finally playing with phone; on the WIFI network as EDGE was down here in Denver. I ran the iPhone network speed test today and got 232 kbps. Looks like AT&T did step up and improve the EDGE speed in the last couple weeks.
