iMac Ordered

iMac 24″Well, I ordered my first Apple computer last night after choosing the Gizmo of the Day… the 24″ iMac with the 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Extreme processor. I’ve always been operating system agnostic with a mix of Solaris, different distros of Linux and different Windows version in my house and have used Apple’s at work and school so I’m not a hard core operating snob one way or another, but the new Apple iMac caught my eyes.

When the iMac comes in, I’ll let you know my impressions. Personally I purchased the iMac for iLife ’08 (iMovie ’08 supports AVCHD!), the screen size and clarity and to simply have something new to play with.

AVCHD is a high def format developed by Sony and Panasonic. AVCHD recordings can be played in Blu-Ray players.
