Deep Link to any spot in YouTube videos

Posted Nov 10th, 2008 by Chief Gadgeteer

Like linking or embedding YouTube videos in your blogs or web pages? But sometimes you just can’t find the right video that has the clip you want? So instead you link to the much larger video and tell your readers to skip ahead to a specific time in the vid.

Now there’s a better way. YouTube has just introduced a way to tweak the URL to get straight to the good part. All you need to do is append a time spot to the end of the YouTube URL.

For example, if you want to start a video playing at about the 1:03 mark (1 min, 3 seconds in), then you would simply append “#t=1m3s” to the URL.

Here’s a baby attempting to pet the fur out of his cat: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vweh3hWrInM#t=1m3s
