In another hardware conquest for the Linux platform, it has been successfully ported to the iPhone. While the current version is not much more than a working, beta version, it does prove that a Linux iPhone is a viable proposition.
As Gizmodo points out in the headline of their article, this may be the start of an Android iPhone. Oh, the irony is fantastic.
For much more geeky details, take a look at the blog, and/or the video.

Ok, so it’s a 5 minute video, made by some fans, but it’s worth the time. It’s a bit of fun no matter what franchise you like. Sorry, I’m not gonna give it away, and you can’t skip to the end without missing stuff in the middle. Enjoy!

Two new services have been launched recently you may find interesting. The first is 123people, a real time people search tool, you can read more about in Who Are You? Find Out With 123people. If you are trying to find a friend, or simply want to find out what information exists about you then this a great place to start.
The next is Tagggit, the location-centric social network which allows you to tag places, search for tagged places, rate them and share them with your friends and community. Read more about it in Bring Your Social Network Into The Real World With Tagggit. One of the great new features of Tagggit is a mobile application allowing the tagging and searching of tags directly from your mobile device.
Don’t forget – we recently launched the new Befriend A Monk page on Monk And His I.T. Junk technology cartoon – pop on over and say hello.

HP’s tx2z series of tablet PC notebooks has a cool new feature – multitouch. Just like on the iPhone, you can use 2 fingers to perform different actions; for example, stretching out or zooming in on a photo or other object on the screen.
The tx2z is no slouch either despite its seemingly small stature (starting under 5lbs with a footprint of 12×9″). You can get up to a 2.4GHz AMD dual-core Turion, 8GB memory, a 64MB ATI 3200 graphics card and up to a 400GB SATA hard drive. Not too shabby.

We’re but mere days away from our turkey feasts, and that can only mean one thing – Black Friday, the kickoff of the holiday buying season and craziest retail shopping day of the year, is almost upon us.
Given the current economy, it couldn’t come quicker. If your budget for Christmas gifts has shrunk along with your 401k, then it may be a good idea to take advantage of the deep discounts and great in-store sales while you can.
If you’re looking to shop the door busters on Black Friday, do yourself a favor and pick up a copy of your local newspaper tomorrow and Thursday to get all the store fliers. Start circling the products you’re interested in and planning your strategy.
If you’re an online junky, like me, there are a number of resources available online to see all the good deals. Our friends at Retrevo have put together a pretty nifty Black Friday guide for those buying tech, which is available for download on their site. You can also check out GottaDeal and BlackFriday.info for a look at all the Black Friday specials.
Once you know what you’re getting, don’t forget to head over to my Black Friday Survival Guide at TechLore.com to brush up on your Black Friday game plan. If you are planning on standing in line overnight or even a few hours, the tips there can make your shopping experience much more enjoyable.
Enjoy your Thanksgiving everyone, and happy bargain hunting!

This is kinda interesting, but only somewhat. Western Digital has entered the media player game, but in a limited fashion. This box, the TV HD Media Player, takes your USB stick/hard drive and outputs the content on those USB devices via HDMI to your TV @ 1080p.
The price is decent, but for the same or a bit more, you can get into the Media Center game in a bigger way. There is a plethora of media players you can get, including Mvix, Neuros, and quite a few other open source ones.
