UK Govt planning e-mail/phone Big Brother system

The thing that we were afraid of not too long ago (the FBI’s Carnivore program), is coming up in the UK now. The UK Home Secretary is proposing a similar system that would track times and dates of messages and phone calls. Needless to say, it’s experiencing a great deal of resistance.
