WattStopper’s Isole IDP-3050 Smart Surge Protector

Here’s the next logical step in smart surge protectors, the Isole IDP-3050 uses an infrared sensor to tell if you’re in the room or not and will shut off 6 of its 8 outlets automatically. That means you could plug stuff like your PC into 1 of the other 2.

The timing on how long it takes to shut off can be adjusted from anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes. It’s pricier than some of the other ’smart’ surge protectors, but the motion sensor definitely makes for a big coolness factor.
