This year Digital Cameras are voted as the fourth most wished for gadget in the Geek’s “12 Gizmos of Christmas“. What the heck does the “IS” stand for in the product name? It stands for iSAPS Technology which is an entirely original scene-recognition technology developed for digital cameras by Canon. Using an internal database of thousands of different photos, iSAPS works with the fast DIGIC III Image Processor to improve focus speed and accuracy, as well as exposure and white balance.

In addition to iSAPS Technology, this camera features Optical Image Stabilizer Technology to keep images crisp even when you are zoomed in, the ISO 1600 and high ISO auto settings help reduce blur when the lights are down and the A570IS is packed with simple creative and convenient features any amateur photographist (yes, I made up a word) would love.
