This is not a slam against working virtually, but every now and again, something kinda amusing happens like when 2 of your writers find and decide to write a post on the same gadget. Yup, I think Chief Gizmateer wrote this gadget up about an hour before I did!

Since I don’t want to waste my wonderful writing, here is/was my write-up.

“Having just started a new IT gig with a brand new company, my brain has gone into this mode of looking for and noticing tools that can help me out or that I need or that I just plain want. Here is just one such of those tools that, honestly, you only need once in a blue moon, but when you do, you’ll be really thankful for having it! It’s a telescoping rod that’s magentized at the end so you can pick up those stray screws and nuts that fall off and seem to take on a life of their own as they try to escape the tyranny of being stuck to machines.

The rescue stick looks like a pen, but extends to over 2 feet. This also includes the single feature that is most neeeded - a light (in the form on LED) so you can see under those desks, behind those racks on inside that deep computer case and find that nut that is eluding you.

At only $5 a stick, you don’t have to feel guilty about picking up one of these, and hey, it’ll totally be worth it the first time you use it. Note that the picture shows 2 sticks, but you’re buying 1 for $5. Don’t say we didn’t warn you!”
