Plasma TVs could be banned in Australia
Interesting. Energy efficiency is something that is becoming more important every day out of necessity, but I hadn’t thought that governing bodies would turn their eyes to electronics this quickly. In Australia, if a proposed energy efficiency rating system goes into effect, then all Plasma TVs and many LCD TVs would be banned by 2011.
I don’t think there’s any doubt that TV companies are going to sit up and take notice, and then figure out how to meet or beat those ratings. Australia has always struck me as a pretty progressive country, so good for them, and in turn good for the rest of us.
