Yes, they were simple games, relatively speaking of course, but oh so much fun. Think about it - one of the most popular video games ever, Tetris, wasn’t exactly the epitome of complexity. The Atari 2600 was the first video game console that found its way into millions of home and made Atari one of the fastest growing and largest companies in the world in no time flat. So much has happened in the video gaming industry in 30 years, and yet interest in Atari remains, perhaps even grows. There are Atari fan clubs, and even 3rd party products being made for their various products. Of course, the Atari brand name carries on, having traded hands a few times.
