Moving up to the big boys of Digital Photo Frames, this 10.4″ Photo Viewer includes two interchangeable 8×10″ frames but if you are a geek… you’ll love the technology behind this frame. The frame offers web connectivity to RSS feeds, email or photo-sharing sites via Windows XP or Vista. The frame offers 128MB of storage supplemented with external memory from CF, SD or MMC memory cards.
The frame also supports playing MP3, WMA, streaming audio, MPEG and WMV video.
The Digital Photo Frame was made with the geek photographer in mind. Imagine sharing your favorite pics with the world through your blog and having them display on your photo frame. Another neat idea, imagine promoting sales at your different store’s registers with the frame and pushing the sales through an RSS feed. My favorite idea? Set the grandparents up with one of these photo frames with a photo RSS feed of the little one.

Sharp announced the world’s first 1080p 22″ and 26″ LCDs recently. Due out on November 22nd, the Sharp LCD monitor’s are PC aware with DVI-D and Analog RGB connections and has a two-screen function which can display two screens of varying sizes. The stand has also been designed to store a PC’s keyboard with a front headphone jack.
Is is a TV or Computer monitor or is there even a difference anymore?

srslycool posted some seriously cool Lego creation pics including this lifesize R2D2. My favorite is Escher’s “Relativity” in Lego.
My only question is… how do you get a job as a Lego artist?

Form and function are combined well in this digital photo frame. The black frame should go with just about any decor and the 3.5″ TFT LCD Screen can be used as an analog or digital clock and can display digital photos. The clock even has an alarm clock built-in as well as a calendar and you can use digital photos as the background.
This Digital Clock and Photo Viewer is perfect for the new dad or mom… for that matter, this frame is perfect for any photo enthusiast that loves to display their photos.

While looking around for gifts this weekend, I started checking out Digital Photo Frames. I’ve always wanted one, but the prices seem to extreme for such small screens. Over the past couple of years, it looks like prices really have come down and technology behind the frame has greatly improved.
Since I was already looking around, I put a few of my favorite digital photo frames up for this week’s Gizmos of the Day. You’ll see everything from portable and tiny to a 10.4″ screen that can connect up to RSS feeds. Enjoy the parade of Digital Photo Frames starting tomorrow.

We’ve all seen the variety of animated t-shirts that light up or respond to external stimuli like sounds, and while cool, not necessarily useful. Here’s an animated t-shirt that serves a puprose – it’s the WiFi finder shirt. Now you can know how strong the Wi-Fi signals around you are, and everyone who can see you can know too with the WiFi Detector Shirt.
This 100% cotton t-shirt (sorry, only in black) displays signal strength for 802.11b or 802.11g which are the most popular formats today. Perhaps when 802.11n becomes more popular, they’ll update the t-shirt. The battery pack (3 AAAs) runs in a concealed pocket sewn inside the shirt.

Have you noticed the dynamically updating counter of space that your Gmail account has on the login page? As I write this, it’s trucking up to 4313MB. I couldn’t help but notice how quickly this counter seemed to be incrementing, so I decided to do a quick ‘back of the napkin’ calculation to see how long it would take at current rates to get to 10GB.
For the engineering/scientific types among you, yes I realize that I’m making lots of assumptions, like: the rate of increase may not be constant, Google may change their mind, my cut and paste method isn’t accurate, 1GB isn’t 1000MB, blah, blah, blah. I get it, but this is make-you-think piece. Onto my calcuation…
I took 3 samples, each a minute long and noted how much the counter had incremented. The #s were surprisingly close and average out to an increase of 0.089214 MB per minute. Wow. With about 5687MB to get to 10000MB, that means it’ll take 63756 minutes to get there. A little division… carry the 1… 44 days!
44 days to get to 10GB?! Is that for real G?
If yes, all I have to say (with a smile) is nice. Just in time for Christmas.

Remember Reg from The Great Outdoors?
Bartender: He’s been struck by lightning… how many times has it been now, Reg?
Reg: S-s-s-s-s-s-s-six…
Chet: Six times?
Reg: S-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-s-six-sixty-sixty-six times. In-n-n-n-n-n-n-In-n-n-n-n-n-n-In-n-n-n-n-n-n-n-n the head!
Lightning is fourty-thousand to one-hundred-twenty thousand amps at three million volts and carries enough power to light a hundred watt bulb for two months. It travels at fourty-five kilometers per second and can kill you faster than rocket to the face.
It behooves you to know when a lightning storm is coming so you can find cover, or so you can channel its power into the nearest available flux-capacitor. The StrikeAlert device detects electromagnetic pulses that indicate the proximity of cloud-to-ground lightning (cloud to cloud usually doesn’t register). It will tell you whether the most recent strike is within 20-40 miles, 12-24 miles, 6-12 miles or within 6 miles. By watching how the lights move from green to yellow to red, you’ll know the storm is coming. Red to yellow to green means the storm is leaving.
It’s small – pager sized, and runs on two AAA batteries. It’s perfect for outdoor sporting events, picnics, or a day at the beach. It’s impact resistant, so throw it into your bag if you’d like.
