How can I create a robot?
As a kid the only way I could create a robot was by transforming cardboard boxes. Today, several options exist for robot hobbyist for creating robots including iRobot’s iCreate Robotic Kit or my favorite, Lego’s Mindstorms NXT.
Personally the Mindstorms kit is my favorite, I first started playing with Mindstorms when version 1.0 was introduced. Using Mindstorms you can not only program a robot but build one using Legos as well.
Mindstorms is great for getting your feet wet in robotics, prototyping and building simple robots but when you are ready to move up to soldering it’s time for some serious resource help from magazines like Make Magazine or some other Robot magazines.
