‘BlackBerry Thumb’ and Repetitive Stress Injury
Are you a CrackBerry (a.k.a. the BlackBerry) user?
Be careful, you could be setting yourself up to get ‘BlackBerry thumb‘. OK, it’s essentially tendinitis in the thumb from overuse. But the BlackBerry isn’t the only device out there that may be giving you some type of repetitive stress injury. Think: video games (joysticks and keyboards), keyboard typing, bad posture sitting at a desk or with a laptop, cell phone text messaging, etc.
WebMD recommends that you first think about the ergonomic configuration of your office environment, take regular breaks and perform stretching exercises in order to try and prevent these types of injuries.
