Nanotechnology may just be the biggest buzzword over the last 5 years that hasn’t produced anything that the average consumer knows about. But fear not, although the amazing products promised by the nanotech scientists may be 10 years away, you may be able to get your hands on a carbon nanotube-based TV next year. Or at least so claims Samsung. Samsung hopes to ship a nano emissive display (NED) by the end of 2006. Carbon nanotubes are being used to build ultrathin displays that surpass the quality of today’s LCD and plasma displays and better yet, at a fraction of the cost.
