Air New Zealand’s New Geeked-out Aircraft
Air New Zealand is fitting their new Boeing 747-400 aircraft with a lot of geek buttons and entertainments options. Each seat in Business class will actually be a pod, and not joined to another seat in the classic sense. Every seat, including in Coach, will have an LCD screen. How about this: the pod in Business class transforms into a flat bed at the touch of a button, there are real power outlets and there’s a foot rest than can be used as a seat by another passenger. The in-flight entertainment is pretty beefy: around 40 movies (one user even managed to crash the system by watching all of them)!
