Is The iPod Nano Screen Durable Enough?
Just a heads-up in case you’re thinking about buying the new iPod Nano: it may have some durability issues, especially with the screen’s resistance to scratches. An article on CNET points to some threads on Apple’s discussion board as well as a website dedicated to the subject (flawedmusicplayer.com) that talks about easily and badly the screen gets scratched. On the other hand, there are many other users who say that it’s just abuse that is causing this damage and point to an Ars Technica report that says it’s pretty durable.
Update 9/28/05:
Apple admitted today that there are problems with the iPod Nano, including the screen cracking too easily. Apple says it will replace any defective units for free.
